Live Joyously, Love Selflessly :)

Life is short. Let’s learn to enjoy it. Each experience, each event, each encounter is to be savored and treasured. In hindsight, each of these would be useful to our development and evolution. If the attitude is right, one can truly enjoy life and make us experience heaven on earth. For what is heaven but an endlessly period of joy and bliss?

There are times when I feel that the situation is painful and I want to get it over with. It is bitter and sour and not pleasant. At such times I just try to remember that most medicines are bitter and despite that, they are good for us. One should learn to look at the good things in life.

When we thus live life joyously, we start loving everything and everyone around us. We feel that we are in a generous mood and are willing to share the joy with others around us. This is a selfless gesture wherein we have no expectations but to see the same joy in others. This is what I call ‘loving selflessly’

So, if you live joyously and love selflessly, you are already in a state of Nirvana and are in a mood to give and forgive. That mood qualifies you for reaching the supreme. And you are one with God!!

Honesty-A key to a Relationship

Ahh..atlast I am finally writing an article after such a long time..i am actually overwhelmed to write an article on a quality which is most vital according to me to form bonds of TRUST in human relationships!!

Honesty, as per its definition, is obviously the act of telling the truth and is a state of mind. It is an ATTITUDE...a CODE. Today in our modern materialistic society we really need the trait and quality of honesty. But before that we must learn what the word ‘honesty’ means? Different people will have different opinions about honesty like—

1) Telling the truth.

2) Being truthful, trustworthy, honorable, fair, genuine, and loyal with integrity.

3) A straightforward conduct.

4) Free from fraud or deception, humble, innocent, simple and creditable.

5) Opposite of lying, the opposite of bluffing, the opposite of hypocrisy and the opposite of deceit.

To me ‘honesty’ is the NAME OF SINCERITY; it's the PURITY OF HEART and also the reverence for GOD!!

One needs to be honest with oneself and needs to understand WHAT IS THAT YOU WANT and THE REASONS YOU WANT IT!! This way, you won’t hurt anybody’s feelings.

From a woman’s point of view, there are two types of honesty:

1) Honesty seeking a reaction or approval from someone else.

2) Being honest with you and not seeking a reaction from anyone else and being GENUINE.

When you are honest with a woman, do not expect a reaction you are being a man. Women will respect you so much more if you are honest with them.

By being honest to woman would convey all the right signals. It shows her that you know what you want, which MOST MEN DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS THEY WANT and get into a relationship for the wrong reasons!!

I’ve seen many men who are scared to tell the truth, befooling themselves, because they think it is wrong or it’s going to scare the woman away. But the fact is the more you lie to women the more problems you are causing in the relationship!!

It confuses me so much to why men lie to woman when it is ultimately going to result in causing more pain..??

There are people who say, “Ohh I simply forgot to tell u about this in this situation, or forgot to tell you about that in a situation..” N guess, you would never gonna be believable!! Thus, BELIEVABLE-NESS is critical in the HONESTY!! When a question comes up and the other person wants to know, give it the full picture because when you do not give a full picture, your credibility will certainly go down to ZERO!!

Wot I personally believe is dat , “Its better to clear the air in the beginning that to have questions after the facts”

Honesty is something which shines like a light through your eyes!!

Atlast,

"The foundation stones for a balanced success in a relationship or otherwise are--Honesty, Character, Integrity, Faith, Love and Loyalty"

Yet another blooper?!!

Hmm..m here to write about funny mistakes I’ve done in the past 5 months—from jan till may’09, which has left me in some really embarrassing moments..Here it goes..

1) Jeannie in a bottle baby

It was the day when I went to purchase a gift for my buddy, pranali on 26th feb at hallmark stores in gandhinagar. I picked up a nice bottle of Charlie Perfume & kept on gazing at for long, when a lil kid dashed with me. The bottle which I was inspecting before few secs took no long time to be converted into pieces and the liquid being spilled everywhere on the floor & even on my pants. God..i generally so good when it comes to handling things, never let them drop here & there was left blank as everybody kept on starting at me as if they’d seen some alien from Mars!!

2) The Testimonial Business

I’d made my mind to pen down few traits of pankaj in around march or so..thanks to the testimonial services of orkut! It was that day I’d cum across an informal English term ‘bimbo’ which I thot meant ‘slow brains’ ( which actually was absolutely incorrect, rather it meant girls with no brain). I pre-maturely took a decision of putting it into use without confirming its meaning in the dictionary or over the internet. To my wildest imaginations I addressed him twice using the term in his testimonial! Wot a blooper!! It was a good laugh for the moron. Though as always he corrected me, but I was left in an embarrassing situation again!

3) New Blunder on a New Year

Ahh is internet a reliable source of information??! I say NO! Not always..It was this sindhi new year in around march end, when I texted all my sindhi friends greeting them & giving them best wishes for their new year. I’d gotta know about this over the internet. None of my friends responded to my message, & I felt really disgusting bout that..But it was no that late when my jijosa, my sweetest sister’s sindhi prince told me that it wasn’t their new year dat day, rather they’ll be celebrating it on the coming day..Me as always, simply uttered the 2-letter word ‘OK’

4) Jeans turning into Jean Capris

It was this day when I went along with ankita on her Active scooter to shop for clothes. She drives awesome, hav no doubt or fear about her driving. But it was when we reached the Helmet circle, and an idiotic guy dashed his Hyundai Accent (see I remember the car even) with her scooter & the car bumper which hit my leg tore my bell jeans and transformed them into a Capri!! Dint go for shopping then..huh..

5) A Walk to Remember

Dada (my bro) wot to say about him?!! I was there to help him out to tie his tie with a Windsor knot in one the reception ceremonies at Cama hotel, a’bad, when afterwards he disappeared from the place to attend a phone call. I, unaware about the fact held the sleeves of somebody standing beside me, thinking it was him & started walking. It was when I actually heard dada calling my nick name from behind, I realized that I’d held the hand of a stranger..Godd.. it dint took even a microsecond for me to leave him.. :D

A Poem

Somewhere in your mind,
Somewhere deep down,
Inside of yourself
There is a rage
For something better!
(Something new)

All of your dreams,
All of your anticipations,
They cause a drive
To make us stronger!
(Keep it alive)
Chase your thoughts
Chase your dreams
Into the night,

Chase your thoughts
Chase your dreams
Keep it alive!
Our time is now
Take hold of the lighting

Ride to the stars,
Break free the shell,
That has you imprisoned
(Escape tonight)

All the fruits
That life has in store
Someday we all will learn
To give our love once more
Fight!
For your heart
Fight!
For your soul
Never give in
Chase your dreams!
Oh can't you see
It's just outside
Of your grasp
You've got to reach out
With both hands
Grab that tiger by the tail!!

Eat right, Exercise regularly, Die anyway!!

Three keys to success are- Attitude, Planning and Determination.

Following are the 9-commandments that will help you to stay fit and avoid gaining weight:

1) Separate food from television

Eating, napping and channel-surfing—if these consume most of your leisure hours, you’ll end up gaining weight! Make healthy & light food choices. Fill your plate with the quantity right for you. Be fully aware of ‘WHAT’ and ‘HOW MUCH’ goes into your system!!

2) Avoid skipping meals before a party

Don’t starve yourself during the day in anticipation of an evening party. If you eat at ‘regular intervals’ during the day, you are less likely to over-eat at night! The body has an internal clock and the metabolism is regulated by regular cycles. Learn to respect these cycles!! When you are fuelled right, its easier to avoid a feeling of “out-of-control” hunger.

3) Divide before you Devour

No need to desert the dessert, divide it. Pleasure is best when shared!! In this way your taste buds are satisfied, portion size decreases and calorie intake is reduced!!

4) Leave something on your plate

No one believes you’ve ate enough if your plate is empty. If you plate has a little food, you wont be coaxed to eat more

5) Chew your food and not Swallow

Each mouthful should be chewed no less than 20 times. It takes about 20 minutes for your brain to realize you’re full, so if you swallow a meal in 10 minutes, then you’re still hungry and might make the mistake of eating more. Now, if you would SLOWLY eat that meal, masticating every bite for a while, then it might take you more than 20 minutes and you will feel satisfied and won’t need anymore food. Chewing your food slowly will not make you digest it rapidly but it will give your brain time to know that you don’t need to eat more…When you have teeth, you should use them so your stomach does not have to do all the work!!

6) “Eat” lots of water with your meals

Eat high water-content foods that will fill you up and help you lose weight. Examples are watermelon, oranges, pineapples, sweet lime, grapefruit, tomatoes & cucumber. Starchy vegetables on the other hand, like potatoes, corn etc. are harder to digest than those that contain more water. In addition drink atleast 8 glasses of water a day!

7) Take breaks to deep breathe

Do you binge eat when you are bored, angry, depressed or tensed?? Relax, deep breathe several times. Decide to do something to take your mind off food. This will help you to distinguish between actual hunger and eating due to emotional responses!!

8) Do not get derailed if you go off-track

Its inevitable that even the most determined get a bit off-track occasionally. Jus remember that it’s the final goal that counts. So get back on track as soon as possible. Don’t get immobilized with guilt!

9) “Excuse proof” your exercise routine

Schedule “workout” in your daily planner. If you lack self-discipline, find an exercise trainer or a workout-buddy to help you to stay committed.. Make exercise an important part of your daily life. Indulge yourself into activities like jogging/brisk-walking, gymming, aerobics, yoga, playing outdoor games, doing small household chores etc. which not only helps you to burn calories but also improve ur stamina!!

The most wonderful 4 years of my LIFE!!

Where should I start from??

I’d share my entire experience of college life by putting it in very simple yet elegant words. N m sure, by the time you reach the last paragraph, you’ll feel that you too in a manner identify urself somewhere!!

I remember how I used to gulp down my breakfast, take a quick shower, put on one of my favorite outfits & accessories, leave for college, all freshened up and speeding across the road..At parking I used to give myself a final look in the rear-view mirror!! ;)

I used to rush for my class, and entered 5 minutes after the lecture began..sope had no other option but to select a last seat in the center row!!

In the morning, students just keep gazing at the professor but with their minds at the door, waiting for that ‘someone special’ or down in the canteen. But then there were a handful of first-bench-students, who paid sincere attention in each n every lecture!! The fantastic four—me, sne, ank & zeba enjoyed joking and gossiping from behind our notebooks, playing some games in the most boring lectures during which half the class is already snoring!! And by the end of the lecture, everybody (even the first benchers) gets restless & keep glancing their watches, dropping their bags & pouches and slamming books. But the professor mercilessly continues!!!

The bell rings and everybody’s out of the class, taking a short break, meeting friends, exchanging secret smiles, discussing movies & stuff..

Who can forget the numerous pranks played? The first time we started having a secret admiration for that ‘someone’, comments of friends, mischievous smiles, fun of partying, etc..?? These are truly unforgettable times..And such moments make emotions flow at any time in life!!

Group Day, Sari Day and gatherings are the most awaited days in the college where every gurl ‘Dresses to Kill’ and have a gala time! Hey, how can I forget the Friendship Day, where we don’t miss a chance to express our feelings!

Then come Submissions..

Submissions are a time when you see all yer classmates, occupying those benches & busy completing their files to get good internal grades. Talking of our teachers..poor souls..They scream their lungs out to fill something in our upper chambers and help us to fill those white-answer sheets with blue lines in around June & November!!

But we just keep commenting on the way they look, dress or talk!!

All we hav to say is, “Paagal, kya padhaa raha hai??” ;D

I’ll Never forget my college years, which have been the most wonderful years of my life!! Have found friends & some really good people in my life.. All the twists have helped me mature. Would cherish them forever!!

Hope you enjoyed reading and enjoy ur college life to the fullest, coz these are the days which would never come again!! At the same time don’t forget that its not ur own but ur parents money that you spend! We owe a lot to them..So make sure that you stand up somewhere close to their expectations!! You'll be able to shape up ur future on the basis of how you spend time in college!!

Shopping Mania!!

In many women's lives, shopping is a hobby and a must for some. When we're up, we shop. When we're down, we shop even more!!

It's like through shopping, somehow we found a new focus and our moods get uplifted. What we can't solve in real life, we solve it through retail therapy. Thus as per a recent research, its identified as one of the best reliever from the psychological problems of anxiety & depression which most of the women tend to suffer periodically..

A new top in happy colors brighten us up. That irresistible pair of red sandals with kitten heels is too hard to pass over. And the little babies just need another cute orange hat to match her orange pair of little shoes.

Who doesn’t enjoy luxuries?

When I chance upon going to a shop I make sure that I make the best use of my time and shop a lot!! I believe in enjoying and rewarding myself. I love things which are eye catching. I love picking up so many stuffs…not only splurge on clothes, earrings & accessories, belts and handbags, but when it comes to eye-liner pencils, nothing can stop me from going crazy!! I simply love the different shades available in Lakme & Revlon brands.

But then I not only spend for myself, I love to purchase gifts for some special people in my life as well..Just find occasions for this purpose!! N believe me, you’ll enjoy this even more! ‘Coz at the time of purchase, you tend to keep in mind the person and his/her interests, which pushes you in a state of deep thought about him/her and allows you to know them better!!!

Moreover, shopping in a new town is always so much more interesting than what you can get back home.

Shopping is an all-in-all a kinda women’s business..Men find it boring..Well, if men liked it, then they'd probably call it research!! ;D

For all the women, May you celebrate womanhood with this shopping article, n spend time in shopping atleast once a week!!

And for the men out there, I’d suggest, “the quickest way to know a woman is to go shopping with her!!!” ;)

Mother-An Angel on Earth!

As we celebrated Mothers Day just few weeks ago I’d wish to share my thoughts on the eternal love & affection which she pours on her child.

The title mother is often given to the biological female parent. Is dat sufficient to describe her?? Nope, never..

A Mother is someone who spends most of her time and energy to nurture her child from the time the child is born, throughout the periods of childhood, teenage and adulthood. After facing many hardships in nurturing the child, she only wishes to see her child mature into adult who is endowed with propriety, righteousness and virtuous conduct. When a child has to undergo some sufferings, the kind mother will pray throughout the day, wishing that she is the one who suffers! No words are enough to describe her unbounded love & concern!!

The proverbial "first word" of an infant often sounds like “ma”. Ma, Mum or mamma may not only be used for a biological female parent..Rather any woman who fulfills the same social role, raises a child with the ultimate compassion & sympathy would be described as ma. The ultimate example according to me is the former beauty queen, Sushmita Sen!!

Consider any species, and you will find these traits in common..Infact I’d read some other day that a Tigress is one of the most perfect mothers to inhabit this planet.

A healthy connection between a mother and a child form a secure base, from which the child may later venture forth into the world.

Sope a child should never forget to LOVE HER MORE THAN EVER, WHEN SHE’S AROUND!!

Please remember, “the best & the most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen, nor touched..but are felt in the heart!!”

At last, jus a few lines which I’d like to dedicate for my mum,

“Your arms were always open when I needed a hug
Your heart understood when I needed a friend
Your gentle eyes were stern when I needed a lesson
Your strength & love has guided me and gave me wings to fly”

Love you the most!!
